Asurion Mobile Phone Insurance is a Total Waste of Money

If you are thinking of getting phone insurance through Asurion (provider to Verizon Wireless). Do not bother. The fine print says that you have to pay a $50 deductible. Hence if you lose or break your phone, you will have paid $122 for a new phone ($72 for a year plus $50). I received a refurbished phone that was defective (loose hinge). Because I did not notify them within 7 days they will not replace it without me paying another $50 deductible.

Save your money and you can always find an inexpensive used or refurbished phone online for a lot less.
